Wanfang Local Gazetteers is an essential documentary resource for regional records. Organized by chronology, geography, and subject matter, it serves as a comprehensive encyclopedia that offers insights into the historical, geographic, social, political, economic, legal, and cultural landscapes of various regions in China. To cater to the unique nature of these records, Wanfang Data has developed a dedicated service platform, "Wanfang Local Gazetteers Knowledge Service System”. The collection is categorized by the 1949 historical milestone: it features "Old Local Gazetteers" (pre-1949), comprising over 9,200 titles and 125,000 volumes, and "New Local Gazetteers" (post-1949), which currently exceeds 67,000 volumes. With continuous updates, it stands as the most extensive digital repository of "New Local Gazetteers" available.
