In alignment with the University's future strategic direction and further support research and academic development, the Library is scheduled to undergo a system upgrade from 23 July to 31 July 2026. During the upgrade period, the following services and functions will operate as usual:
| Physical book borrowing and returning services will operate as usual: | Patrons can borrow or return books in person at the library circulation counter. |
| Electronic databases access will operate as usual: | Patrons can use the e-databases on the library website as usual. |
Whereas, during the upgrade period, the following services and functions will be temporarily affected:
| Suspension of circulation services: | Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) queries for electronic and print collections, book holds, and self-check in /out kiosks will be temporarily suspended. |
| Suspension of the online function of “My Library Record” in the original system: | Online renewals, online book requests, account login access to “personal circulation records”, and “saved search preferences” will be temporarily suspended. |
(*Books originally due during the upgrade period will be automatically extended the due date to 8 August 2026.)
Before 23 July 2026
- Patrons are advised to renew library materials approaching their due dates either online or in person at the circulation counter.
- As historical data in “My Library Record” (including personal circulation records and saved search preferences) will not migrate to the new system, patrons are advised to capture screenshots to back up their data prior to this deadline, if necessary.
- Active queues for books reservations cannot be transferred to the new system. Patrons are advised to resubmit their hold requests manually once the new system is operational.
On 31 July 2026:
- All circulation services and system functionalities will resume normal operations.
- For patrons who have previously reviewed and completed the declaration of “Statement Regarding the Transfer of Library Patron Data”, their library accounts will be automatically activated upon the launch of the new system.
- To ensure uninterrupted access to library services, patrons who have not yet completed the declaration are kindly requested to fill out the form via the link below.

- Please note that for declaration completed after July 31, a period of three working days is required before the activation of your library account.
